So, let's go. 

Create a new document and a layer. I will overlay the layer with yellow to black gradient.

Now, I want to practice some filters here.

In Photoshop version 9 or Cs2 you can combine the filters, so that is why we will put several filters on my gradient layer.

1 - Bas Relief.
2 - Texturize.
3 - Palette Knife.
4 - Accent edges.

So, we've combined 4 different filters and gained a very nice, oil painting like, rough edged effect. Let's use it like the style to our creation, but firs I will apply a Photo filter and set the Blending mode to Linear light.

I will flip my image now, because I have and idea about all this madness.

I will apply layer styles to my Layer 1.

I've Just Color Burned the layer with red colored patters and got this.

We

will also need a copy of our key layer.



Make a big transformation now to the layer 1 copy – the one that is higher.

Moreover warp the layer. I just really love this warp tool. Goof thing CS2 has it.
